Welcome to greatlakesstewardship.org (the "Site"), operated by Great Lakes Stewardship ("we," "us," "our," or the "Organization"). These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Site, including any content, functionality, and services offered on or through it.

By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1. About Us

  • Use the Site in any way that violates applicable local, state, national, or international law or regulation

  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Site, other accounts, computer systems, or networks connected to the Site

5. Donations and Payments

If the Site allows you to make donations or payments:

  • All donations are voluntary and, except where required by law or expressly stated otherwise, are non-refundable

  • You represent that any payment information you provide is accurate and that you are authorized to use the payment method provided

  • Donations may be processed through third-party payment processors, who are subject to their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for errors or issues arising from third-party payment platforms

  • Tax deductibility of donations, if applicable, depends on your jurisdiction and our tax-exempt status; consult a tax professional for guidance specific to your situation

  • We reserve the right to refuse, limit, or cancel any donation at our discretion

6. Volunteer and Program Participation

If you register for events, volunteer opportunities, programs, or newsletters through the Site, you agree to provide accurate and current information. Participation in in-person activities (cleanups, field events, workshops, etc.) may be subject to additional waivers, safety guidelines, or release forms, which will be provided separately and which you must agree to before participating.

7. Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise noted, all content on the Site — including text, graphics, logos, images, videos, data compilations, and software — is the property of Great Lakes Stewardship or its content suppliers and is protected by U.S. and international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You may view, download, and print content from the Site for personal, non-commercial, and educational use only, provided you do not modify or remove any copyright or proprietary notices. You may not reproduce, distribute, publicly display, or create derivative works from Site content for commercial purposes without our prior written permission.

The Great Lakes Stewardship name and logo are trademarks of the Organization and may not be used without our prior written consent.

8. User-Submitted Content

If the Site allows you to submit content (comments, photos, testimonials, forum posts, etc.), you grant Great Lakes Stewardship a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide, transferable license to use, reproduce, modify, publish, and display that content in connection with the Site and our mission, including for promotional purposes. You represent that you own or have the necessary rights to any content you submit and that it does not violate the rights of any third party.

We reserve the right to remove any user-submitted content at our sole discretion, including content we deem inappropriate, unlawful, or inconsistent with our mission.
